Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plans
Medigap plans work alongside Original Medicare to pay the out-of-pocket costs it leaves behind. Benefits are standardized by Medicare into lettered plans — so Plan G covers the same things from any carrier, and only the premium differs.

Frequently asked questions
Are Medigap plans the same no matter which company I buy from?
Yes — benefits for each lettered plan are set by Medicare, so Plan G from one carrier covers exactly the same costs as Plan G from another. Carriers compete on price, customer service, and rate stability, which is why premiums are shown as a range.
Which Medigap plan is the most popular?
Plan G is the most popular choice for people newly eligible for Medicare because it covers nearly every gap except the Part B deductible. Plan N is a popular lower-premium alternative that trades small copays for a lower monthly cost.
Do Medigap plans include prescription drug coverage?
No. Medigap plans don't include Part D drug coverage. If you want prescription coverage, you can add a standalone Part D plan alongside your Medigap plan.
When is the best time to buy a Medigap plan?
Your Medigap Open Enrollment Period is the 6 months starting the month you're 65 and enrolled in Part B. During this window carriers can't deny you or charge more based on health, so it's usually the best time to enroll.
