More coverage details

How Plan N works with Original Medicare across the main cost categories.

Supplement plans are required to cover a set of standardized basic benefits set by the government. These Supplemental benefits provide additional coverage to what is covered by Original Medicare Part A (hospital insurance) and Part B (medical insurance and doctor visits).

Medicare Part A Hospital Coinsurance or Deductible

  • For hospital stay days 1 - 60, Plan N pays $1340, the Part A deductible amount
  • For hospital stay days 61 - 90, Plan N pays $335 per day
  • For hospital stay days 91 - 150, Plan N pays $670 per day
  • For an additional 365 days, Plan N pays 100% of approved expenses
  • After the additional 365 days, Plan N pays $0 per day

Medicare Part A Skilled Nursing Facility Coinsurance

  • For nursing facility stay days 1 - 20, Plan N pays $0 per day
  • For nursing facility stay days 21 - 100, Plan N pays up to $167.50 per day
  • After 100 days nursing facility stays, Plan N pays $0 per day

Medicare Part B Coinsurance or Copay

  • Plan N pays $0 until you meet your $185 Part B deductible
  • After Part B deductible is met, Plan N typically pays 20% of the coinsurance. Original Medicare Part B covers the other 80%

Blood Coverage

  • For the first 3 pints of blood, Plan N pays 100% of the cost
  • After the first 3 pints of blood, Plan N pays $0 of the cost because Original Medicare covers 100%
