Medicare plans in Rhode Island

Medicare Advantage and Part D plans are sold by private insurers with service areas defined by Medicare — usually by county. The plans available to you, their premiums, and their provider networks all depend on where you live, so we ask for your state and county before showing pricing.

Medicare Advantage (Part C) bundles your Medicare coverage into one plan, often adding dental, vision, and drug coverage through a provider network. A Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plan works alongside Original Medicare to help pay the costs it leaves behind and lets you see any provider that accepts Medicare, but doesn't include drug coverage.

Medigap benefits are standardized by Medicare, so Plan G covers the same things from any carrier. However, which plans carriers offer and how they price them varies by state — and a few states (Massachusetts, Minnesota, and Wisconsin) standardize their Medigap plans differently.

The Annual Election Period runs October 15 – December 7 each year. You may also qualify for a Special Enrollment Period — for example when you turn 65, move out of your plan's service area, or lose employer coverage.
